Valley Family, Nonprofit Receive Free AC Systems from Chas Roberts

Chas Roberts Air Conditioning & Plumbing has chosen two recipients to each receive a free home air conditioning and heating system and installation. The systems are being installed just in time for the brutal summer heat.

The selected winners were among many nominations Chas Roberts received this year as part of their annual Cool Play AC Giveaway contest:

  • Arizona Small Dog Rescue, a no-kill rescue shelter, has saved the lives of many abandoned, neglected and abused dogs. Most of the animals in their shelter come from the Maricopa County Animal Control’s euthanasia list and from other shelters in the area. In just 2014 the nonprofit saved more than 3,000 lives. The shelter’s air conditioning system was old and had to be repaired multiple times last summer because the nonprofit didn’t have funds to pay for a new unit.
  • The Carletons lost their home after having to pay extensive medical bills for their daughter, who has endured numerous surgeries and requires several expensive medications. They have lived with family over the past two years and are currently staying in a home where the air conditioning system unit is over 30 years old and temperatures in the home can range from 90 degrees or higher in the middle of the day.

“We received so many heartfelt and compelling nominations this year and are thrilled to be able to help such a worthy nonprofit and beautiful family,” said Sissie Roberts Shank, CEO of Chas Roberts Air Conditioning & Plumbing. “We feel fortunate to have the opportunity to give back to such wonderful families and nonprofits.”

This is the sixth year Chas Roberts has sponsored this contest where the general public is invited to nominate someone in need. Winners were selected based on the story of need submitted on the online application form on ChasRoberts.com.
