Nomination submissions have officially closed! Thank you to everyone who nominated a family or charity in need of a new A/C unit. Below are this year’s winners. We look forward to doing it all over again next year!
Julia Allgrove is a single mom of three living in Glendale. Last year, she lost her third child at the age of five. He is survived by his sister and brother. She also lost her mother, 2 sisters and her brother in the last four years. Her air conditioner failed in June of this year, she had it repaired, but it was incorrectly repaired, and she was told it is now a fire hazard. We are happy to give an A/C unit to Julia and her family.
Jeff and Melissa Christ are foster parents to a set of twins, whom they are hoping to adopt. Residing in San Tan Valley in an older home, they have two older A/C units not functioning at full capacity. Jeff and Melissa are both hardworking educators at the Florence School District. We are excited to give Jeff and Melissa a new A/C unit!
Margie Aragon is a retired teacher of 25 years, living in Phoenix and is a caregiver to her husband who is diabetic and bed bound. Margie consistently gives back to her community and we are happy to replace her 41-year-old A/C unit with a new one this year.
The American Legion Post 53 in Buckeye is a volunteer-based group that works to assist veterans in need, sponsors local high school students, presents awards to JROTC students, hosts events for the community and more. Their new A/C unit will allow the organization to continue to host valuable events and be a “home” for others in the community.
