Chas Roberts CEO Named One of the Most Dynamic Women Leaders in Business

Phoenix, Ariz. (February 21, 2013) – Sissie Roberts Shank is being honored by the Phoenix Business Journal this month as one of the year’s 25 Dynamic Women in Business. Honorees are recommended by members of the community and chosen by the news staff of the Phoenix Business Journal for their leadership, professional accomplishments and personal achievements.

Roberts Shank began working part-time at Chas Roberts, a company her grandparents founded, when she was in junior high. She worked her way up, learning the business, until she took the helm from her father in 1999. “It was such a privilege to be able to learn so much from my father, and before him, my grandparents,” said Roberts Shank. Under her leadership, Chas Roberts successfully weathered the economic downturn and has come out stronger on the other side.

Roberts Shank has spearheaded impressive growth for Chas Roberts. The company has expanded to become the largest residential HVAC provider in Arizona, servicing individuals and new home builders throughout the Phoenix area, Tucson and the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area. In 2012, the company added residential and commercial plumbing services to its offerings. As CEO, Roberts Shank also founded Chas Roberts University, an extensive training program utilized for company employees during the building boom in the mid 2000’s.

A large part of the company’s success is due to its focus on customer service – a focus that starts at the top. “I challenge myself every day to be the best, and I issue that challenge to my employees,” said Roberts Shank. Chas Roberts has a local call center staffed to make appointments or to answer individual questions via phone and customers can make appointments via ChasRoberts.com 24 hours a day. And Chas Roberts has a network of warehouses across its service area so that customers’ units can be serviced quickly.

Both in her role as the chief executive of Chas Roberts, and as a private citizen, Roberts Shank has an impressive record of giving back to the community. Every year, Chas Roberts sponsors the Cool Play AC Giveaway through which they provide new home cooling and heating systems for families in need. The company also has a long history of supporting schools and athletic programs for youth. Personally, Roberts Shank is a member of the National Charity League and she is certified as a Delta Pet Partner Team with her dog, through which they provide comfort to patients and elderly residents at area hospitals and nursing homes. She has also served as a YoungLife mentor to young adults.

Roberts Shank was named to Today’s Arizona Woman’s “Who’s Who in Business” list in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Under her leadership, Chas Roberts has also been named by the Phoenix Business Journal as one of the Top 100 privately held companies.
